2008 TIHCA CONFERENCE
November 19-21, 2008
Renaissance Hotel at
the Arboretum
The 2008 Annual TIHCA Conference, held at the Renaissance Austin
was a success for all those involved. Representatives from over
80 entities attended the conference and were able to make great
strides in learning more about health care.
The conference also included sessions on communicating with your
board, diabetes, best practices and an update on the 81st
legislative session.
At our
annual
business meeting, we announced the departure of three board
members and the appointment of their replacements. TIHCA will
miss the leadership and contributions from Board Members Rebecca
Currington of Hockley County, Donna Burt of Liberty County
and Chair-Elect Karl Lavine of Fort Bend County.
We will be looking forward to new ideas from their
appointments Anita Dunlap of Tom Green County, Eddie Olivarez of
Hidalgo County and Linda Dickerson of Jasper County. Bride Roberts
of Williamson County accepted the appointment to fulfill the
term of Chair-Elect.
TIHCA would like to send out a special thank you for all the
donations received for door prizes. Also, without the volunteer
staff that manned the registration, resource and membership
tables and digitally recorded the sessions, TIHCA 2008 would not
be the same quality event.
Thank you to all the participants,
speakers and sponsors who made it possible.
You can now access the
presentations from the conference on the TIHCA Website:

In the meantime
many of the resources found at the conference can be found on
the resource page of the website, including the Quick Reference
Guide, and it will be updated daily.
