Nathan Drozd is a distinguished professional serving as the Principal Transportation Planner with the Streamlined Project Delivery Team for the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) with a focus on optimizing transportation projects. Nathan has worked with NCTCOG for 13 years and brings valuable expertise and strategic planning to his role by bridging the gap between planning and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), accelerating critical regional roadway projects, providing environmental reviews of transportation projects, and assisting in the environmental needs for NCTCOG’s grants and programs for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Nathan’s contributions to the transportation sector demonstrates a commitment to excellence and efficiency and plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing projects in the North Central Texas region. As an NEPA specialist since 2002, Mr. Drozd has the unique experience of the entire environmental transportation process including working in a Metropolitan Planning Organization, TxDOT, and consulting. His dedication to the transportation field and his position at the North Central Texas Council of Governments underscore his role as a key player in advancing efficient and sustainable transportation solutions in the region. Although well versed in all NEPA subjects, his passion is wildlife and natural resources. He pioneered the first Regional Toll Analysis for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) detailing the potential impacts tolls have on low-income populations. In addition, Mr. Drozd developed the first cumulative impacts section for FHWA’s use in NEPA documents. He, along with TxDOT and his team, received the FHWA 2015 Environmental Excellence Award for Klyde Warren Park. Lastly, Mr. Drozd holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science with an emphasis on wildlife ecology from Texas A&M University in College Station. When he is not providing environmental expertise, Mr. Drozd enjoys spending his time outdoors. He also enjoys spending time with his three-year-old son, completing home improvement projects for his 99-year-old historic house, and baking.
