Deputy Chief Executive Officer Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network

Ryan Adams is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network in Waco, Texas. The "Network" is one of 39 Texas governmental healthcare entities specializing in mental health, substance use disorder, developmental disabilities, primary care, and rehabilitative services. The network has more than 600 employees and serves six counties in Central Texas. Mr. Adams has spent almost his entire professional career working in various capacities for the network. In his 23 plus years with the network, Mr. Adams has served in various roles in the accounting department, including 2 years as Controller and over ten years as the Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Adams has held his current position as Deputy CEO for the past 3 years. In his current role, Mr. Adams has oversight of the agency’s largest division, the CCBHC and medical services division, which provides behavioral healthcare services to both adults and children and adolescents in the agency’s six county service area. Mr. Adams also oversees the agency’s finance and billing departments, as well as the maintenance department. Throughout his time with the network, Mr. Adams has helped design and implement numerous new initiatives and programs that benefit the citizens of Central Texas. Mr. Adams holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree as well as a Master of Business Administration from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. He is also licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas. He and wife, Shelby, have been married for 21 years and have two children ages 20 and 18.
