One of the leaders who pioneered the establishment of TechShare over 10 years ago, Collin County, recently made the decision to join our TechShare.Juvenile program. In fact, Collin County participated in the first juvenile data sharing initiative, the regional Juvenile Information System that included Dallas, Denton, Tarrant, Rockwall and Kaufman Counties.

The basic solution, Juvenile Case Management System (JCMS), provides access to Juvenile data provided by participating counties as well as the ability to track and report juvenile data to the Texas Department of Juvenile Justice. There are 210 counties in Texas currently live on JCMS. Approximately six to eight counties go live on the system in Texas each month. The Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) anticipates statewide participation and accessibility to the system by August 2015.

Our advanced solution, TechShare.Juvenile, includes the basic functionality of JCMS in addition to:

  • Law enforcement management of first offender programs
  • Jail logs for juvenile processing offices
  • Electronic notice of arrest, disposition, and probation supervision status to school districts
  • Advanced case management for juvenile probation supervision
  • Electronic disposition reporting for juvenile intake and prosecutor
  • Institution and facility management
  • Prosecutor case management
  • District/County clerk and court functions
  • Integration for law enforcement agencies, municipal courts, and schools from their local records management solution
  • Livescan interfaces for reporting electronic arrest records to the department of public safety

The TechShare.Juvenile team is currently in business process review and modification with Collin County in preparation for implementation, tentatively scheduled for late May 2015.
