The Common Integrated Justice System (CIJS) Program is a collaborative effort between the counties participating in a justice program (Odyssey), the Urban Counties TechShare program and Tyler Technologies. Since the beginning of the contract in 2006 the goal has been simple: to share the cost of resources across counties to get the most out of the software. Over the years, the CIJS program offers training, support, knowledge sharing, process improvement, and a number of other benefits to the participating counties when it comes to their Odyssey package.
On April 3, 2015, Tyler Technologies stated they would be allowing the current CIJS agreement to expire at the end of December 2015. The current agreement was finalized in December 2014 for a one-year term and was the seconded extension of the contract since 2006.
Jeff Puckett, Vice President, Sales, noted, “The program has been a success and has provided an effective vehicle for Texas counties to acquire and implement our solutions. Today, most of the participants in the program have completed their implementations, and their needs and relationship with Tyler have evolved.”
Even without a direct contract with Tyler Technologies, TechShare can continue to foster collaboration among our members as a positive and influential force for establishing product direction and finding ways to save on costs. In fact, we believe our collaboration has the potential to expand into other Texas counties running on Odyssey. We’ll be discussing with each of the participating counties ways in which the association can foster collaboration between members going forward.
There are currently 18 counties participating in the CIJS program. TechShare intends to fulfill all commitments for the current contract year and will be working with Tyler on a transition plan for 2016.
