After months of deliberation, Travis County Commissioners Court decided yesterday afternoon that they would no longer participate in the TechShare.Court project. Tarrant and Dallas County Commissioners Courts both voted to continue moving forward with the project in early February.

Following the motion to exit its collaboration with TechShare on the court project, Judge Eckhardt commented, “The promise of TechShare, which has been achieved on prior projects, is to receive a superior project at a lower cost.” She continued by saying, “We know it can be done again. I believe over a period of time, this court has come to a point where we don’t believe we can achieve a superior product at a lower cost on this particular project for a number of reasons that don’t apply to our other projects with TechShare.”

As one of the original funding counties in the project that began in 2011, Travis County provided useful feedback during the pivotal stages of planning and development for the new court case management system.

We would like to thank Travis County for its support up until this point, and we wish them the best of luck in their search for a solution that meets their needs.

The TechShare.Court team completed development for Release 1 in February, on time and under budget.  Release 2 is targeted for completion in December of this year.
