12190 Potter County courthouse in Amarillo

In an effort to implement a case management system for its Justice of the Peace Courts, Potter County Commissioners Court voted on Monday, Mar. 23 to join the TechShare.Court project.

The TechShare.Court project began when the Texas Conference of Urban Counties, on behalf of Travis, Dallas, and Tarrant counties, issued an RFP for an a platform upon which the counties could collaborative build a new court case management system for Texas. In 2012, a vendor by the name of AMCAD was selected to provide their existing case management system known as AiCMS, as the platform. When AMCAD was selected, AiCMS was already live in a number of counties throughout the state. One of these included Bexar County. Potter County indicated that their decision to implement the system was influenced by a visit to Bexar County, where the system has been in use for three years in its JP courts.

Once development is complete (targeted for December 2015), the TechShare.Court system will provide counties with additional functionality specific to Texas.

Potter County is also participating in the TechShare.Prosecutor project. A Go-Live date is still being determined.
