Geoffrey Tahuahua (tuh-wa-wa) is President of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Texas, the voice of the merit shop construction industry at the Texas Capitol. ABC Texas is comprised of over 1,700 members across eight chapters and represents all specialties within the Texas construction industry, including the industrial and commercial sectors. Drawing from a wealth of experience in legislative and political arenas, Geoffrey guides ABC Texas through the complex intricacies of the Texas legislative process and navigating state agencies. His recent accomplishments during the 88th Legislative Session in 2023 underscore his expertise, having successfully led the charge on nine legislative priorities—the most in the organization's history. Notably, Geoffrey secured victories in passing pivotal legislation, including the Texas Regulatory Consistency Act (HB 2127) and Right to Repair (HB 2965). Prior to his role at ABC Texas, Geoffrey served as the Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs for the Real Estate Council of Austin. His diverse professional journey also includes impactful stints at the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin, the Texas Public Policy Foundation, and within the Texas House of Representatives. A graduate of St. Mary's University with a degree in Political Science, Geoffrey resides in Dripping Springs with his wife and two sons, bringing his commitment to community to a local level as a dedicated member of the Dripping Springs City Council.
