TIHCA's creation and the importance of mentorship
The purpose of mentoring is to connect an individual who has a lot of knowledge and experience with someone who hasn’t gained the same knowledge or experience—yet.
By having someone who knows more than yourself share advice, offer guidance and be a sounding board for your thoughts you stand to benefit from experience beyond your own. Whether in your career or life, having a mentor is crucial to all of our continued growth and development. This keynote will discuss the creation on TIHCA in 2004 with Rita and Bride and discuss why they felt it was important to share knowledge and support to other counties and programs.

Opiates
The dangers of pressed pills and fentanyl and responses to the opioid epidemic. The reemergence of illicit fentanyl represents a complex

counterfeit prescription opioid pain pills, meaning users are
often unaware they are taking fentanyl. Come hear how counties are addressing this community problem.

Suicide Awareness and Self Care
Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background.
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month —a time to raise awareness of this stigmatized, and often taboo, topic. This topic will discuss the importance of shifting public perception, spread hope and share vital information to people affected by suicide. Our goal is ensuring that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.
